Application documents

1. A copy of the employer’s or guarantor’s Hong Kong ID card, if the employer is not from Hong Kong For permanent residents, persons with the right to enter or to stay unconditionally, please provide a copy of the travel document containing the employer’s personal information and the latest Hong Kong Immigration Department stamp;

2. The employer’s financial proof, such as the tax assessment notice recently issued by the tax bureau and tax payment notice; bank passbook/monthly statement showing monthly salary of not less than HK$15,000 in the past three months; pay slips in the past three months;

3. Proof of address of the employer as stated in the standard employment contract (ID-407) , such as water and electricity bills, Internet bills, telephone bills or rates in the past three months; if it is a government public housing estate, you must apply for a temporary residence permit from the Housing Department, which takes 5 to 7 days;

4. If the employer hires a third party, the employer needs to submit proof of relationship and a A letter of guarantee stating that the employer will be responsible for all expenses;

5. List of family members, including full name, date of birth and Hong Kong ID card Number or passport number or birth certificate number

6. If the foreign domestic helper does not have his own room (it can be shared with same-sex family members or children share a room), the employer must provide the foreign domestic helper with a floor plan and photos of the resting area, and provide a letter explaining the arrangements for family members;

7. An original copy of the standard employment contract (ID-407), which must be submitted to Notarized by the consulate, and the other three copies of the contract are held by the employer, the foreign domestic helper and the Hong Kong Immigration Department (if applicable);

8. Completed application form (ID-988A and ID-988B) ;

9. A copy of the foreign domestic helper’s travel document and Hong Kong identity card (if any) .

Employment Terms

Qualification

A. The employer is financially capable of hiring foreign domestic helpers. Generally speaking, the employer must have a monthly household income of not less than HK$15,000, or a considerable amount of assets to finance the employment of a foreign domestic helper throughout the contract period;

B. Foreign domestic helpers must enter into a standard employment contract (ID-407) with their employer ;

C. Foreign domestic helpers only need to fulfill the standard employment contract for the employer (ID-407 );

D. Foreign domestic helpers are not allowed to hold positions for others while in Hong Kong;

E. The employer must pay the foreign domestic helper no less than the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government regulations The minimum allowable salary is HK$4,870. If no food is provided to the foreign domestic helper, the agreed food subsidy amount shall not be less than HK$1,236 per month;

F. Foreign domestic helpers can only work and live at the contract address;

G. Employers must provide foreign domestic helpers with appropriate accommodation and reasonable privacy ;

H. The authenticity of the relationship between the employer and the foreign domestic helper is beyond doubt;< /p>

I. The employer and foreign domestic helper have no known bad records;

J. The employer must be a Hong Kong resident living in Hong Kong.

Employer Responsibility

A. The monthly minimum wage is HKD 4,870

B. At least 1 day off every 7 days

C. Statutory holidays – after 3 months of service, foreign domestic helpers can Enjoy at least 13 days of statutory holidays

D. Annual leave – foreign domestic helpers can enjoy it every year after 12 months of service At least 7 days of paid annual leave

E. Medical expenses and medical expenses for illness or injury (whether or not work-related) Sick leave

F. Statutory labor insurance/protection

G. Airfare, meal and transportation allowance; and/or severance and long-term Service benefits

H. Some consulates require employers to provide adequate clothing for foreign domestic helpers. Cope with the colder months, as most foreign domestic helpers generally come from tropical countries, do not have winter clothing and lack daily necessities.

I. Employers must negotiate with foreign domestic helpers whether to provide food during their employment , if food is not provided, the employer must provide the foreign domestic helper with a monthly meal allowance of at least HK$1,236.

J. The employer should provide accommodation for the foreign domestic helper at the address stated in the employment contract . The scope and location of a foreign domestic helper’s work are limited to the address where they perform household chores and the contract stipulates. Any other arrangements are considered illegal.
